Crestwood Elementary School

Awarded the Kentucky Blue Ribbon School in both 1990 and 1994, the National School of Excellence in 1994 and the Kentucky Merit Media Award in 1992. Located in Crestwood off of South Highway 393. The Crestwood family is a diverse group of lifelong learners dedicated to becoming independent thinkers and problem solvers through exposure to real life experiences. They are devoted to continuous learning and utilizing every opportunity to expand minds as they become productive citizens

Inteligent Technology

Crestwood has a networked instructional computer system in all classrooms. There are two computer Labs for K-5 students. The Library features computerized circulation and card cataloging. Ipads and many 21st century learner resources are available and used throughout the school. All Grade Level classrooms are Inteligent Classroom equipped.

Extra Curricular Activities

Art Enrichment, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Performing Arts (Chorus), Student Council, 4H, Girl Scouts, Louisville Youth Orchestra

If your family has a need that is impacting your child’s learning, please contact our Guidance Counselor and Homeless Coordinator, Sharon Schwarz. Mrs. Schwarz coordinates assistance for Crestwood families who have financial concerns, mental health based concerns, or other concerns directly impacting your child.

Kentucky Blue Ribbon School; National School of Excellence; Kentucky Merit Media Award; KATC (Kentucky Autism Training Center) model site for students with autism; Southern Association Accreditation; 8 National Board Certified Teachers: Angela Collins, Heather Dremov, Kimberly Flanders, Angela Heibert, Cindy Lange, Bonnie Lindsay, Mary Mueller, Penny Sheridan;  Office Max Make a Day Better Awarded to Tina Taylor and Angie Heibert; University of Kentucky Teacher Who Made a Difference, Bobbie Stoess; Third and Fourth grade team placed Second in the District Battle of the Books in 2010 and Fifth grade team placed Second in the District Battle of the Books in 2011; Quick Recall-Elementary District Governor’s Cup Competition 2st place( 2008 and 2009); Regional Governor’s Cup Competition Elementary Division 2nd place (2009); Regional Governor’s Cup Competition Elementary Division 1st place (2010); District Governor’s Cup Competition Elementary Division 1st place (2010).
