Oldham County Fun Fact 15 features The Confederate Home in Pewee Valley opened in 1902 to accommodate Confederate soldiers who were homeless. An infirmary was built in 1904 which could accommodate 60 patients. At one time the home had 300 residents. Most of the facilities were destroyed by fire in 1920. The veterans were buried nearby in the Confederate Cemetery. Photo and more can be found on the Oldham County Historical Society page.
